Retiring from our corporate jobs and moving from Richmond to Ruther Glen three years ago meant sacrificing our favorite local coffee shop and eclectic restaurants for the peace and quiet of rural life in Lake Land ‘Or. But sometimes it’s lonely in these parts, especially during a pandemic. 

My husband and I longed for a local place to get a great cappuccino and butter croissant, to meet up with friends and neighbors in a relaxing, welcoming environment. Let’s face it, coffee at home just doesn’t satisfy like the local specialty coffee experience. 

After my father’s passing in December 2020, I decided to honor his memory by turning my dream of opening a coffee shop into reality. My father was the glue that held his small town together. Everyone knew him. He served on the local planning commission and as treasurer of Babe Ruth Baseball. His warm and welcoming personality inspired me to create a local space for our community to grow. 

Not only will we serve the best coffee and baked goods around, but we also plan to highlight local artists and businesses, provide internet access for a place to work, comfy couches to curl up with a good book, and plenty of tables inside and out on the patio to catch up with friends new and old.
